Always power, wherever you are: the electric Knegt tractor as a mobile energy hub

Introduction

Professionals in green maintenance and construction can work more quietly and cleanly thanks to electrification, but often struggle on-site with rapidly draining batteries and a lack of power sources.

More and more landscapers, foresters, municipal workers and contractors are switching to electric tools and vehicles. The major advantage is obvious: you can work wherever you want, without cables or exhaust fumes. On remote or new locations without grid power you can still use machines thanks to batteries.

The battery problem on remote worksites

But this freedom has a downside: batteries only last so long. Intensive use of, for example, a battery-powered chainsaw can drain the battery completely in 20 to 40 minutes. After that you are left empty-handed – or rather: with an empty battery – in the middle of the forest or on the construction site.

Charging in the field is often a logistical challenge. Without a power outlet nearby you have to improvise. Professionals take multiple spare batteries with them (which are heavy and expensive) or fall back on a generator. But such a genset means noise, emissions and extra fuel costs again – exactly what you wanted to avoid. Moreover, diesel generators are increasingly unwelcome on zero-emission construction sites; many clients and municipalities are already banning them.

The result: green professionals lose valuable time swapping batteries or driving back and forth to charge. The sustainable dream of cordless working collides with the reality of empty batteries. There has to be a better way.

Zero-emission power on wheels: the electric tractor as a powerbank

Knegt addresses this challenge with its electric compact tractors. These zero-emission powerhouses not only provide quiet, clean power for the work itself, but also act as a mobile energy source on-site.

The electric Knegt tractor is equipped with a large lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) battery of 24 or 34 kWh – many times the capacity of an average battery tool pack. On a full charge the tractor itself can perform heavy work for 3 to 5 hours, and with an extra battery pack even 6 to 10 hours continuously. Thanks to an energy recuperation system, the tractor also recharges itself while engine braking.

What makes it especially interesting: the tractor can share its energy via a 230V connection. Think of it as a massive powerbank on wheels for all your other electric tools. On-site you can use the tractor’s battery capacity to power tools or lighting.

Is the battery of your chainsaw or hedge trimmer running low? Simply plug the charger into the tractor and top it up directly, without having to return to the workshop. The tool batteries remain in use, but you no longer have to haul them around in large quantities or connect them to a diesel generator.

Do you need to start early or keep working after sunset? Use the tractor to power work lights or field lighting. And thanks to the quiet operation of the e-tractor you can work without disturbing engine noise – although the tools themselves will of course still make some sound.

Importantly, the tractor remains available for work at the same time. With a 380V fast charger it can be recharged to around 80% in about two hours, for example during the lunch break. This way you always have a reliable energy source at hand, without emissions or noise.

Direct added value in forestry, parks and construction

The electric Knegt tractor can not only pull, mow or load, but also supply power where no fixed connection is available. A major advantage for a wide range of applications:

• Forestry: During maintenance or logging, battery tools can be charged on the spot. No dragging generators or fuel cans around, and the peace and quiet in the forest are preserved.

• Recreation and nature management: Managers can work emission-free in noise-sensitive areas. Lighting or tools are connected directly to the tractor without disturbing visitors.

• Municipal works and construction sites: On new construction locations without a grid connection you can already work fully electric. The tractor powers 230V equipment such as lighting, tools or a small inverter setup. In residential areas this means: work without diesel fumes or engine noise – quieter for the surroundings, cleaner for everyone.

Ready for action: towards a green, powerful future

The traditional limitations of battery-powered work disappear with the electric Knegt tractor as a mobile energy hub. No more downtime due to empty batteries, no hassle with generators or piles of spare batteries. Instead, you always have power at hand, supplied by a powerful, clean tractor that also carries out your work.

This creates a new way of working for professionals in green maintenance, construction and outdoor space management: efficient, zero-emission and future-proof.
