Electric tractor price: what does an e-tractor cost?
The short answer
An electric compact tractor from Knegt costs from €37,950 for the 304G2E, from €45,950 for the 404G2E and from €52,950 for the 504G3E. All prices are starting prices excluding VAT.
What you finally pay depends on the version (with front loader, cab or both), the battery choice, the colour and the implements you add. For a fair picture, look beyond the purchase price to the total cost over the years you use the tractor. This article lists the prices and cost items side by side.
Starting prices per model
Knegt has been developing and building compact tractors in its own workshop in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, since 2006. The electric range consists of three models, each with a separate electric motor for driving and a 15 hp motor for the hydraulics:
- Knegt 304G2E (45 hp: 30 hp drive motor + 15 hp hydraulics): from €37,950 ex VAT.
- Knegt 404G2E (55 hp: 40 hp drive motor + 15 hp hydraulics): from €45,950 ex VAT.
- Knegt 504G3E (65 hp: 50 hp drive motor + 15 hp hydraulics): from €52,950 ex VAT.
For comparison: Knegt's diesel compact tractors start at €13,750 (304G2), €17,950 (404GT) and €20,950 (504GT), also excluding VAT.
The starting price applies to the basic version. You can see the current price of your own configuration in the configurator on the models page, or you can request a quote.
What determines the price of your electric tractor?
In the configurator you build the tractor step by step. Each choice affects the total price:
- Model: the 304G2E, 404G2E or 504G3E. Choose based on your heaviest implement and how long you work with it in one go.
- Version: basic, with front loader, with cab, or with cab and front loader. The front loader is made by Stoll; the luxury cab adds comfort in bad weather.
- Battery: on the electric models you choose between a standard battery and a plus battery. A larger battery extends the working time per charge.
- Colour: Knegt red as standard, or a custom colour at an extra cost.
- Implements and accessories: from mowers and sweepers to pallet forks and spreaders.
A fast charger and an extra battery pack are also available as options. With the fast charger you charge from 30 to 80% in about 2.5 hours; charging from a standard 230V socket is also possible but takes longer.
Tip: start with your work, not with the price. A tractor that is slightly too small or runs out too early will cost you more in practice than the price difference to the next model.
Purchase price versus total cost of ownership
An electric tractor costs more to buy than a comparable diesel model. The running costs, however, look different. Include these items in your comparison:
- Energy: you pay for electricity instead of diesel. If you charge with your own power, for example from solar panels, include that in your own calculation.
- Maintenance: an electric motor has no engine oil, fuel filters or injectors. A service is due every 350 hours or once a year.
- Battery: the lithium battery is rated for 3,500 charging cycles, and top-up charging in between is possible.
- Warranty: new Knegt tractors come with a two-year factory warranty, with extended warranty packages available.
- Versatility: a quiet, zero-emission tractor can also work in stables, greenhouses, industrial buildings and noise-sensitive areas. That can make jobs possible that are difficult with diesel.
Do the maths for your own business: how many operating hours a year do you expect, what do you pay for electricity and diesel, and how long do you plan to keep the tractor? A dealer will be happy to work through the numbers with you.
Tax benefits and financing
Depending on your country, there may be tax schemes or grants for electric machinery. In the Netherlands, for example, businesses can use the Dutch environmental investment allowance (MIA). On the 2026 Environment List of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the electrically powered mobile machine is listed under code E 3413, with the agricultural tractor as an example. According to RVO, this means a 27% deduction on 90% of the investment amount, for investments of at least €25,000 excluding VAT, subject to conditions such as a fixed driver's seat and purely electric drive.
Whether your investment qualifies and what it brings you depends on your situation and country. Always have this checked by your accountant or adviser.

Frequently asked questions
What does the cheapest electric tractor from Knegt cost?
The Knegt 304G2E is available from €37,950 excluding VAT. That is the price of the basic version.
Do the prices include VAT?
No. All prices mentioned are starting prices excluding VAT. Options such as a front loader, cab, plus battery or custom colour come on top.
